I am about to launch my first online company, and I am a convoluted emotional and intellectual careening bobsled of emotion. With one wall being: yes people are going to love this to OMG! what was I thinking. And yet the one thing I have in common with the bobsled is that I am about to head out of the gate and there will be no stopping…well I could crash but at least I might make the evening news smile if not my banker.

And because I have a gift for taking the most simple ideas and make them complicated even my closest friends are beginning to make that forced smile when I bring up my aspiring online coffee company. They all quickly say, ‘I will buy lots of your coffee’ but then change the subject to ‘how about them Cubs’. I am no youngster so none of this is offensive or really disconcerting because with age one can often (with practice) learn to step back and center and observe.
