Grandmother Was Never Wrong!

Grandma had parking rules that defied the laws of physics

Many years ago when I was a small child, my grandmother took me to church and there was only one parallel parking place near the church and she asked me to get out and look to see if there was room to parallel park. I looked and she was short of 6 inches. I got back in and told her and she said I was wrong and she backed up and I watched as she slowly pushed the car behind her back a foot- there was no noise, she didn’t rev the engine(somehow the car behind her was in neutral) and when we got out of her car she had created an extra 2 feet. I tried to say something, but I looked at her triumphant face and kept my thoughts to myself.

And she said, ‘see I told you it would fit’. That pretty much described her world view. Which, according to my interactions with her, was the only view. She was a good woman and loving grandmother but not much on car parking. Or maybe she was much better at it than everyone else…
