In LOTR, Sauron Was The Smartest
Learning from Magic Creatures to make us better humans
Sauron was by far the smartest of all the magical creatures in LOTR (and no, he’s not related to Mark Zukerberg). He made the very smart bet of supporting the guy with all the firepower and the goon power and magic that already ruled a third of the earth. Mount Doom was never going to be a vacation spot and you better not cross the boss or you’d end up getting run through and there would be no bonus for you with a new Beemer. But when you join the winning team, you can make a very cheap labor force out of fricking mud to make things for a dollar store cheaper than anyone.
However, do you want to wake up in the middle of the night wondering if that rumbling you hear is from your ulcer or some orcs at your door on a mission to find you with your termination papers (I don’t think they will actually bring any papers with them!)
If J.R.R Tolkiens brilliant saga “The Lord of the Rings” taught us anything… it’s not about you for you… it’s about the ‘we for the we.
As the multi-billion dollar public relations/ad machine pounds us with new and ever more shallow personas to lift up as role models, let’s stop and go back to “Lord of The Rings” by J.R.R. Tolkien. Where is our Frodo today to take on the ugly challenges that surround us?
