Sit Down And Just Breathe

Scientific studies mostly predict that deep breaths can be good for your heart and immune system. After doing the simple breathing exercise in the Youtube video below, there’s a very good chance you will notice your body is not as tense. If the tension returns: repeat. (As with all exercise, be sure to check with your doctor first to see if this is appropriate for you.)

The other day, I was getting anxious about waiting for my COVID test results. And I was tense. It took a full minute of getting more and more tense, before I started taking deep breaths. It worked. I was relaxed within a couple of minutes of deep breathing. I was positive, but I was ready. (BTW, my symptoms were more like a cold/flu…Thanks God)

And so I have learned to breath deep slow breaths in and deep slow breaths out. No, this is not like forcing your lungs to feel like balloons in your chest…inhale to a comfortable level. But try and focus on the air coming into your mouth or lungs. And then let it out slowly and again focus on the air coming out of your nose/mouth. Remember be comfortable is the only rule here. If you can, sit with your feet on the ground. Find a quiet place with your phone on silent for 5 minutes. This has worked form millions…

Try it, please…

Do you feel better? Let me know…here is a much better resource than my fumbling words…
